Which Simrad Chartplotter Is Right for You?
Simrad offers a range of multifunction displays designed for different boats, fishing styles and budgets. From the straightforward GO Series through to the new flagship NSS 4, the main differences come down to processing power, sonar capability, controls, networking and how extensively you want to integrate the electronics on your boat.
Simrad GO Series – Simple & Dependable
The Simrad GO Series is a great starting point for smaller boats and straightforward single-display installations.
With a bright touchscreen, built-in sonar, GPS/chartplotting, NMEA 2000 connectivity and radar integration, GO provides the core features most recreational boaters need without the complexity of a larger integrated system. Simrad positions the GO Series for smaller centre consoles, cruisers, sport boats and single-display installations.
Best suited to: Smaller trailer boats, recreational fishing, cruising and customers wanting a simple all-in-one display.
Simrad NSX – Modern, Simple & Connected
The Simrad NSX steps up from GO with a newer, more intuitive operating system and a strong focus on ease of use and system integration.
Its touchscreen interface is designed to feel familiar and easy to navigate, with improved charting and faster auto-routing. It can integrate navigation, sonar, radar and other onboard systems into one modern display.
NSX is particularly well suited to boaters who want a clean, modern touchscreen experience without necessarily needing the heavy-duty fishing controls and sonar capability of the NSS range.
Best suited to: Mid-sized trailer boats, centre consoles, cruisers and modern recreational helms.
Simrad NSS evo3S – Proven Offshore Performance
The NSS evo3S is a serious step up for fishing and offshore boating.
Unlike the touchscreen-focused NSX, NSS evo3S combines a touchscreen with physical keypad and rotary controls. That's particularly useful on a fishing boat when conditions get rough, your hands are wet or you simply want positive physical control of the display.
It also incorporates a 1kW CHIRP-enabled echosounder, extensive networking capability and integration with Simrad radar, autopilot and other onboard systems.
For many serious NZ trailer boats, NSS evo3S remains an extremely capable system.
Best suited to: Serious fishing boats, offshore trailer boats, larger centre consoles and cruisers requiring advanced sonar and system integration.
Simrad NSS 4 – The Next Generation
The new Simrad NSS 4 takes the premium all-in-one NSS concept considerably further.
It introduces a much faster 8-core processor, Simrad's newer interface and a hybrid control system combining touchscreen, rotary dial and keypad control. More importantly for serious fishermen, NSS 4 features built-in dual-channel 1kW CHIRP sonar.
NSS 4 can also display up to four networked sonar sources simultaneously when connected to compatible modules such as the S5100, S3100 and SonarHub. This makes it particularly attractive for boats running sophisticated transducer and sonar combinations.
Available in 10", 12" and 16" displays, Simrad positions NSS 4 as its premium all-in-one solution for offshore fishing boats, serious anglers and modern cruising helms.
Best suited to: Serious offshore fishing, advanced CHIRP sonar installations, multi-transducer systems and customers wanting Simrad's latest premium all-in-one technology.

Need Help Choosing?
The best Simrad display isn't necessarily the most expensive one. Your boat size, fishing depth, transducer, target species, radar and autopilot requirements all need to be considered.
For a straightforward recreational boat, GO or NSX may be all you need. For more serious fishing and offshore use, NSS evo3S provides proven high-performance capability, while NSS 4 is the natural choice when you're building a premium new system and want Simrad's latest sonar and processing technology.
